For the right dosage of medicine (horse wormers for instance) and food it is of essence to know the weight of your pony or horse. For example: underdose for an adult horse could be harmful, while it's important not to give a foal an overdose.
Below you will find the weights of the most common horses. This table is purely a guide to the average weight of a particular type. Variations from the average can at times be quite extreme.

Mini Shetland pony: 220 - 385 lbs (100 - 175 kg)
Shetland pony: 440 - 550 lbs (200 - 250 kg)
Welsh pony: 660 - 770 lbs (300 - 350 kg)
New Forest pony: 770 - 880 lbs (350 - 400 kg)
Icelandic horse: 770 - 880 lbs (350 - 400 kg)
Arabian horse: 881 - 990 lbs (400 - 450 kg)
Haflinger: 990 - 1320 lbs (450 - 600 kg)
Fjord: 990 - 1320 lbs (450 - 600 kg)
Friesian horse: 1100 - 1540 lbs (500 - 700 kg)
Irish Cob: 1100 - 1760 lbs (500 - 800 kg)
American Quarter horse: around 1200 lbs (550 kg)
Belgian horse: 1540 - 2204 lbs (700 - 1000 kg)
